Territory Sales Officer
Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a result-oriented and proactive Territory Sales Officer (TSO) to oversee and grow business in the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing customer relationships, identifying and acquiring new clients, managing distributors and retail networks, and ensuring that sales targets and collection goals are met consistently.
This role demands strong communication skills, market knowledge, and analytical thinking, combined with the ability to travel and work independently. The Territory Sales Officer is expected to possess product knowledge, understand competitive positioning, and use tools like CRM and Excel for reporting and planning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Relationship Management

Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers and channel partners.

Act as the key point of contact for clients regarding product queries, order management, and service-related issues.

Understand customer needs and provide solutions to improve satisfaction and retention.
2. New Business Development

Identify and tap into new business opportunities in the assigned territory.

Conduct market visits to identify potential clients and develop a customer acquisition plan.

Participate in promotional activities, local events, or campaigns to increase brand visibility.
3. Distribution Channel Management

Build and maintain a strong network of distributors, dealers, and retailers.

Ensure regular availability of stock at distributor and retailer levels.

Provide training and support to distribution partners on product knowledge, pricing, and sales strategy.

Monitor distributor performance and resolve any channel conflicts.
4. Target Achievement and Revenue Growth

Ensure achievement of monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets for the territory.

Drive revenue growth by increasing product penetration, upselling, and cross-selling.

Monitor and ensure timely collections from customers as per the payment terms.
5. Market Intelligence & Competition Awareness

Stay updated on competitor activities, pricing, new product launches, and strategies.

Provide feedback to the marketing and product teams for improvements or innovation.

Share ground-level insights on customer behavior, preferences, and buying patterns.
6. Reporting & Information Systems

Create daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports using MS Excel or CRM tools.

Monitor key performance metrics like secondary sales, order conversion rates, and distributor sales health.

Track stock movement, returns, and pricing variations across the territory.

Use sales data to support decision-making and territory planning.
7. CRM & Digital Tools

Use CRM software to manage leads, client interactions, sales pipeline, and follow-ups.

Ensure data accuracy and timely updates in the CRM system.

Generate automated reports and dashboards for internal review.
8. Team Collaboration & Strategy Sharing

Work closely with the sales manager and team members to share feedback, strategies, and success stories.

Contribute ideas for new customer development, market coverage, and service improvement.

Participate in team meetings, training programs, and performance reviews.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reports)

Experience in using CRM systems (Salesforce, Zoho, or similar tools)
