Job Description

The Theatre Manager is responsible for the overall management of the theatre, including staff supervision, financial operations, marketing, event coordination, and customer service. The role ensures the smooth and efficient running of all theatre operations, providing an excellent experience for both patrons and performers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. *Operational Management:*

   - Oversee the daily operations of the theatre, including scheduling, maintenance, and ensuring all equipment is functional.

   - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

   - Coordinate with technical staff for lighting, sound, and stage management.

 

2. *Staff Management:*

   - Recruit, train, and supervise theatre staff, including box office personnel, ushers, technical crew, and cleaning staff.

   - Schedule staff shifts and manage payroll.

   - Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

 

3. *Financial Management:*

   - Prepare and manage the theatre's budget.

   - Monitor and control expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.

   - Handle ticket sales, concessions, and other revenue streams.

   - Prepare financial reports and forecasts.

 

4. *Marketing and Public Relations:*

   - Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote shows and events.

   - Maintain and update the theatre's website and social media platforms.

   - Coordinate with local media and community organizations to enhance the theatre's visibility and reputation.

 Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in theatre management, arts administration, business administration, or a related field.

- Several years of experience in theatre operations or a similar managerial role.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.

- Knowledge of marketing and public relations strategies.
