Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced TIG Welder to join our production team. The ideal candidate should be capable of performing TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding on stainless steel components and appliances with precision and quality. You will be responsible for assembling and welding stainless steel parts used in manufacturing appliances such as ovens, sinks, commercial kitchen equipment, tanks, cabinets, or other stainless steel structures.
This position requires excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of welding techniques and safety practices. The role is crucial to ensure high-quality and durable welds that meet design and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. TIG Welding Operations

Perform TIG welding (GTAW) on stainless steel parts and components as per specifications.

Use appropriate filler rods, gas settings, and heat input for different gauges of stainless steel.

Weld parts in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions depending on component design.

Prepare joints and surfaces by cleaning, beveling, or grinding before welding.
2. Fabrication & Assembly

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to understand welding requirements.

Assist in fitting and positioning stainless steel parts using fixtures, clamps, and jigs.

Assemble parts before welding to ensure correct alignment and fit-up.

Conduct post-weld operations like brushing, grinding, or polishing to finish the product.
3. Quality Assurance

Inspect welds visually for cracks, porosity, undercut, or distortion and correct issues immediately.

Ensure all welding work meets the dimensional accuracy, strength, and finish standards set by the company or customer.

Maintain tolerance and specifications as per technical drawings or welding procedure specifications (WPS).

Coordinate with the quality control team for inspections and approvals.
4. Equipment Handling

Set up and operate TIG welding machines, including current, polarity, and shielding gas flow.

Maintain welding torches, gas cylinders, and other equipment in clean and safe condition.

Replace consumables like tungsten electrodes and filler rods as needed.

Report any equipment malfunction or maintenance requirement to the supervisor.
5. Safety & Compliance

Follow all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, helmets, and aprons.

Ensure the safe handling and storage of gases, tools, and welding machines.

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

Comply with company rules, environmental standards, and industry regulations (like ISO or ASME if applicable).
6. Documentation & Reporting

Record daily welding activities, materials used, and components completed in job logs or production sheets.

Report defects, delays, or material shortages to the team leader or production manager.

Assist in tagging and labeling welded products for tracking and traceability.
