Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head – Engineering & Tool Room to lead the engineering and tool room operations in a press stamping manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tool design, development, maintenance, process improvement, production support, and ensuring timely delivery of quality tooling while driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Engineering & Tool Room operations to support production requirements.
- Oversee the design, development, manufacturing, modification, and maintenance of press tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of stamping tools to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
- Analyze tooling issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor tool performance and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and tool life.
- Plan and execute new tool development projects within timelines and budgets.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Optimize tooling costs through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Tool Room team to improve technical capabilities and productivity.
- Maintain engineering documentation, tool history records, and process documentation.
- Support new product development and production trials.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of Press Tool Design, Sheet Metal Stamping, and Tool Room Operations.
- Expertise in Progressive Dies, Compound Dies, and Blanking/Forming Tools.
- Good understanding of Press Shop Manufacturing Processes.
- Knowledge of tooling materials, heat treatment, machining processes, and maintenance techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot tooling and production-related issues effectively.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, and measuring instruments.
- Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks/CATIA or equivalent).
- Strong planning, leadership, and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices is preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in the Automotive Press Stamping Industry.
- Proven experience in Tool Room management and engineering leadership.
- Experience handling new tool development, tool maintenance, and production support.

Qualification

· 06.00 am to 2.30 pm - 1st shift
· 02.00pm to 09.50 pm - 2nd shift
· 09.50pm to 06.00am - 3rd shift
· 09.00 am to 05.30 pm - General shift
· Sunday week-Off
