Job Summary:
The Claims Processing Associate to work on claims behalf of US Insurance companies as well as to obtain required documentation and information for the claim processing. They will responsible for keying, processing and/or adjusting health claims in accordance with claims policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible to prepare and audit medical documents in the given EHR software.
- Responsible for Posting medical charges, payments, and journal entries to patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Verifying correct insurance filing information on behalf of the client and patient.
- Verifying receipt of all patient registration data from the client and notifying a client of potential coding problems.
- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
- Research and appeal denied claims.
- Meet individual and departmental standards with regards to quality and productivity.
- Ability to handle protected health information in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA).
- Check eligibility and benefit verification.
- Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines.
- Responsible to report Daily, Weekly and Monthly on the assigned task.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of insurance carrier payment policies, practices, and amounts is added advantage.
- Medical Billing, Insurance Billing is preferred.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
