Trainee - Business Process Transformation Engineer

About the role:
The Trainee - BPT Engineer will be responsible
for understanding, and anagrammatizing, the current work processes, workflows, and associated systems; utilizing Agile practices and Lean techniques; and optimizing, customizing, and automating the workflows, thus reducing variability
within a given process, increasing predictability and productivity, along with overall enhancements in the quality of products and services; with a zeal
for continual improvements, processes automation, and customer delight. The
key responsibilities may include, but not limited to, are:
- Apply agile
practices and lean techniques, to drive business process transformation
initiatives, as may be assigned from time to time
- Study
processes/workflows, and refine or create workflow diagrams, as applicable;
with appropriate notations, timelines, sequencing, durations, critical paths,
etc.
- Utilize various
Continual Process Improvement tools like SIPOC+(CM),and Pareto charts, to
summarize various workflows and outcomes analysis
- Drive work standardization,
and 5S+2S initiatives, and apply visual workplace (virtually) best practices
- Identify process
customization and automation opportunities, and drive continual improvement
initiatives, forgiven work streams
- Optimize business
systems configuration settings for workflows/process customizations
- Develop workflow
automation applications and/or scripts for batch runs; may use scripting
languages, MS Office excel automation, SQL database queries, stored
procedures, BOTs, AI tools, etc.
- Facilitate root
cause analysis utilizing templated processes like 5 Whys; with clarity on
problem statement articulations utilizing templated formats like 5W+1H
- Collate, and
structure performance datasets, for data mining and business analytics; utilize
statistical concepts for converting data into information to aid decision
making
- Exhibit a high level
of self-initiative, learning agility, enthusiastic problem solving, and zeal
for continual improvement; along with willingness and persistence to make a
positive difference in the transformative initiatives
- Learn basic, and
advanced, quality tools and techniques, and apply them in day to day strive for
continual improvements in pursuit of business process transformation activities
- Facilitate people
inclusivity through the collation of ideas and suggestions, from across teams and
people, drive for logical conclusions including prioritizations and actions
planning
- Learn, practice, and
conduct awareness sessions, and quizzes, for the institutionalization of an
encompassing culture of continual improvements and innovations
- Support facilitation
of workshops for business process transformation initiatives
- Ensure that
communications to key stakeholders are provided in a concise and timely manner
- Provide some
periodical and/or emergency support (i.e. on-call support),as may be needed
from time-to-time
General Requirements:
- B.Sc. – Computer Science, Information
Technology, or similar (BBA/BMS candidates with demonstrable tech-savviness may
also be considered);
- Additional relevant certifications in
programming/scripting languages, and systems/networks, preferred
- Freshers with typical 3 to 6 months
relevant internship preferred
- Good understanding of Databases like MYSQL, and SQL; Languages like Java, Javascript, Office-js, Shell scripting, Python,
etc., and J2EE application servers like Apache Tomcat; and working knowledge of
basic network configuration
- Good organizational skills and keen
attention to detail; and a good understanding of Lean/Agile practices and
well-known modeling languages such as UML
- Understanding of Lean and quality tools for
process improvements, statistical concepts, and analysis, will be preferred
- Conceptual understanding of Data Mining,
Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI for process automation
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation
skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across the
organization with various teams, and management
- Strong interpersonal skills; and ability to
effectively influence and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders;
- Strong MS – Office skills, along with
business storytelling and graphical visualization abilities
- Demonstrable abilities for self-management,
self-initiatives, articulative documentation, and zeal for knowledge
sharing, are highly desirable
- Natural aptitude for troubleshooting &
problem-solving and innovations
- Demonstrate customer-centricity with a willingness to support both internal and external customers
