Trainee Electrical Officers Job Opportunity In Shipping Corporation of India Ltd
Eligibility Criteria: Selection of Trainee Electrical Officers (Tr.ELO) with ETO Course:
(A)Retired Indian Navy Personnel and Age Limit:
(i) B.E. / Diploma awarded by the Indian Navy, and has sailed as chief artificer (power side only) and is in possession of
DG approved ETO course certificate.
(ii) Age limit is 45 yrs on the date of interview.
(B) Diploma and Degree holders and Age Limit:
(1) Passed three years Diploma with 60% marks or four years Degree with 50% marks in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication/ Communication engineering or Electronics and Instrumentation. The diploma/ degree must be recognized by any State or Central Govt. or the AICTE.
(2) Must have completed 4 months ETO course from DGS approved training institute.
(3) The age limit is 30 yrs on the date of interview
General Requirements (A) & (B): (i) Must be in a possession of valid Indian CDC, Passport, Pan Card, and INDOS No. (ii) Must have completed all required STCW-2010 courses including STSDSD from DGS approved institutes. (iii) Must have oil tanker DCE. Candidates to produce all original certificates- including age and caste for verification. Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC and ST Candidates are considered.

Medical Standard: Candidate must have good health and be fit for sea service as per existing MS Medical rules 2000/MLC 2006 applicable to seafarers. Medical fitness checks for selected candidates to be done through SCI empanelled DG approved Doctors. No waiver for above standard. Medical examination fees shall be borne by the candidates.
Compulsory Training: Candidate has to undergo 6 days course ETO Practical Training in Mumbai. Course fee is around Rs. 25,000/ + GST. All cost of training i.e. course fee, boarding and lodging etc to be borne by the candidates
Wages Structure: Trainee Electrical Officers candidates will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs 10,000/- per month for eight months onboard training. After sailing with SCI for eight months as Trainee Electrical Officer with the satisfactory performance report, candidates might be considered as Electrical Officer on Direct Contract subject to clearing ETO COC and fulfilment of all requirements of electrical officers and subject to vacancy. However without COC the candidate may be offered as Junior Electrical Officer on Direct Contract for six months with consolidated wages of Rs 30,000/- per month subject to vacancy.
