Assign Codes: Use coding systems like ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II to assign appropriate codes.
Ensure Accuracy: Verify that all codes are accurate and complete to support billing and reimbursement processes.
Collaborate with Healthcare Providers: Work with doctors and other healthcare staff to clarify diagnoses and procedures.
Maintain Confidentiality: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies to protect patient information.
Participate in Training: Attend training sessions and stay updated on coding guidelines and regulations.
Perform Quality Checks: Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure coding accuracy.
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Health Information Management, or a related field.
Skills: Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
Certification: Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCA, or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory for freshers.
