Job Description
Assist in operating solvent recovery systems as per approved SOPs and process instructions.
Monitor and record operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, vacuum, flow, reflux, level, and distillation conditions.
Assist in solvent recovery operations involving distillation, fractional distillation, condensation, separation, and collection.
Ensure proper charging of solvent/feed material to recovery equipment as per approved batch instructions.
Monitor equipment such as distillation vessels, condensers, receivers, vacuum systems, pumps, heat exchangers, and related utilities.
Collect and transfer recovered solvents to designated storage tanks/containers as per approved procedures.
Ensure proper identification, labeling, and status of recovered and rejected solvents.
Perform routine checks of equipment and report abnormalities, leakage, unusual noise, pressure fluctuations, or other unsafe conditions.
Maintain batch records, equipment logbooks, checklists, and operational records accurately and on time.
Follow approved SOPs, GMP, EHS, and safety procedures during all operations.
Assist in solvent sampling and coordinate with QC for analysis and testing.
Ensure recovered solvent is released for reuse only after appropriate QC/QA approval.
Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S standards in the Solvent Recovery Plant.
Follow safe handling practices for flammable, toxic, corrosive, and hazardous solvents.
Use required PPE and follow permit-to-work, LOTO, and other applicable safety procedures.
Assist in equipment cleaning, line clearance, and changeover activities as per SOP.
Support preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities in coordination with Engineering/Maintenance.
Report process deviations, spills, leaks, equipment failures, and safety incidents immediately to the supervisor.
Assist in improving solvent recovery yield, purity, energy efficiency, and recovery cycle time.
Coordinate with Production, QC, QA, Warehouse, Engineering, and EHS departments for smooth operations.
Participate in training programs related to GMP, process safety, fire safety, chemical handling, and emergency response.
Preferred Knowledge
Basic understanding of distillation and solvent recovery processes.
Basic knowledge of heat transfer, mass transfer, vacuum systems, and condensation.
Familiarity with API/pharmaceutical manufacturing practices.
Basic understanding of GMP documentation and SOP compliance.
Awareness of handling and storage requirements for flammable solvents.
Basic computer and documentation skills.
