Key Responsibilities:

Turnaround/Shutdown Planning & Coordination:
Lead the planning, scheduling, and coordination of shutdowns and turnarounds, ensuring that all activities are well-defined and aligned with operational objectives. Develop detailed work schedules, budgets, resource allocation plans, and procurement strategies.
Scope Definition & Resource Management:
Work with stakeholders to define the scope of work, identify required resources (personnel, equipment, materials), and ensure the availability of these resources. Ensure that all team members have the necessary training, tools, and safety equipment to perform their tasks effectively.
Risk Management & Safety Compliance:
Ensure all shutdown activities are conducted with the highest level of safety and risk management. Develop and implement risk assessments, safety procedures, and contingency plans. Conduct safety briefings, safety audits, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
Team Leadership & Supervision:
Supervise and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, contractors, and maintenance personnel. Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure clear communication across all team members to achieve project objectives.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
Develop and manage the budget for turnaround and shutdown projects. Monitor and control project costs, ensuring that expenditures are in line with the budget and take corrective actions as necessary. Analyze and report on financial performance and variances.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting:
Track the progress of turnaround activities against established timelines. Use project management tools and techniques to report regularly to senior management on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as completion percentage, safety performance, and resource utilization.
Contractor Management:
Oversee and manage relationships with external contractors, ensuring that they adhere to safety standards, quality requirements, and project deadlines. Monitor contractor performance and resolve any issues or delays that arise during the turnaround process.
Post-Turnaround Analysis & Continuous Improvement:
After the turnaround or shutdown, lead the post-turnaround analysis to evaluate the performance, identify lessons learned, and implement improvements for future turnarounds. Provide feedback on process improvements, operational performance, and resource utilization.
Documentation & Compliance:
Ensure that all shutdown and turnaround activities are properly documented, including work permits, risk assessments, inspection reports, and compliance records. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities and outcomes for audit purposes.
Stakeholder Communication:
Regularly communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including operations, engineering, procurement, and senior management, to ensure transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Provide regular updates on shutdown progress, safety status, and any critical issues.
