Qualification : Thorough Knowledge of Hindi in Devnagari Script. If the candidate has not passed High School or equivalent examination in Hindi, he/she has to clear the an exam conducted by the Registrar, Departmental Examinations Govt. of UP, within 3 years of joining. (b) A degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Telecommunication/Instrumentation /Electronics and Instrumentation/Electronics/Industrial/Industrial and Production Engineering from a University or Institution established by law in Uttar Pradesh or from any other institution recognized by State Government or a degree of recognized as equivalent thereto by the State Government. Or Degree Examination in Civil Engineering conducted by any of the Universities in India incorporated by any act of the Central/State legislature or by UGC. Or Section "A" and "B" of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (INDIA). Note: (i)Degree/Diploma from distance learning education shall not be eligible. (ii)Degree/Diploma must be completed at the time of submission of application.

Fee : Candidates Can Pay The Fee of Rs. 1000/- for General / OBC category Candidates as well as for Other States except Uttar Pradesh, Rs. 700/- for SC / ST.

Bond : The amount of Rs. 3 00 lacs for the post of Assistant Engineer for the period of 5 years shall have to be submitted at the time of joining by the candidates.

Selection Process : Selection Processes will be based on written Test (Computer Based Test) CBT and Interview. Computer Based Test (CBT) will be held at Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Lucknow. Meerut & Varanasi Cities. however, Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Sewa Aayog. (UPRVUSA), have the right to cancel any of the Examination city/Center and/or add some another Cities/Centers depending upon the requirement, administrative feasibility, or any force-majeure conditions etc.. The test shall be of objective type of total 200 marks and shall comprise of total 200 questions. out of which 150 questions shall be from the minimum qualification level for the relevant post applied and 50 questions of General Knowledge/Awareness, Reasoning and General Hindi. Each correct answer shall carry one mark each and each wrong answer shall carry negative mark of 0.25. Candidates of Un-Reserved/OBC who obtain less than 30% marks in CBT and SC/ST candidates who obtained less than 25% marks in the CBT will not be eligible to be considered for selection. Interview carrying 20 marks will be conducted at Lucknow only. Maximum numbers of candidates short listed will be 3 times the number of vacancies. Qualifying candidates with same marks in CBT at bottom will be counted as one for shortlisting purpose only. Appearing in the CBT and interview is compulsory; failing which candidature will be treated as cancelled. Finally, the merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the combined marks obtained in the CBT and interview

Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) was constituted on dated 25.08.1980 under the Companies' Act 1956 for construction of new thermal power projects in the state sector. The first Thermal Power Station constructed by UPRVUNL was Unchahar Thermal Power Station of 2X210 MW capacity and it was transferred to NTPC on dated 13.02.1992. On dated 14.01.2000, in accordance to U.P. State Electricity Reforms Acts 1999 and operation of U.P. Electricity Reforms Transfer Scheme 2000, U.P. State Electricity Board, till then responsible for generation, transmission and distribution of power within the state of Uttar Pradesh, was unbundled and operations of the state sector thermal power stations were handed over to UPRVUNL.
