Job Description
Research Associate (NPSA7 - 2 positions)
Location: New Delhi, India
Required Skills and Experience
Disaster Risk Reduction & Recovery: Knowledge of DRR and Recovery concepts and frameworks, and the ability to understand and apply risk reduction solutions to infrastructure planning and development.
Resilience: Knowledge of how infrastructure sector is exposed to multiple risks, and how improved standards and regulations can reduce these risks and make the sector more resilient through improving risk management mechanisms.
Representation: Ability to represent UNDP, productively share the institutional knowledge and activities, drawing upon UNDP’s global experiences
Advocacy: Ability to advocate a point of view and influence others.
Knowledge Management: Ability to efficiently handle and share information and knowledge.
Innovation: Ability to contribute new and innovative ideas.
Communication: Ability to listen, adapt, persuade and apply.
Delivery: Ability to get things done in a fast-changing environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Disaster Risk Reduction, Engineering, Architecture, Environment Sciences, Economics, Public Finance, Risk Finance, Public policy or closely related fields.
A Master’s degree in these fields will be highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience required
Experience of working in the field of Disaster Management & climate change is desirable
Experience of working with international organizations will be an advantage
Language Requirement : Excellent verbal and written in English
