Position Overview
A Video Editor is responsible for assembling recorded footage, raw clips, graphics, music, and effects into a polished, engaging final product suitable for various platforms. The role involves working closely with producers, directors, marketers, or content creators to craft compelling visual stories that resonate with the target audience and meet brand or project goals.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for visual storytelling, proficiency in video editing software, and a thorough understanding of post-production workflows. Whether editing short social media reels or long-form documentaries, the video editor plays a critical role in bringing creative ideas to life.
Key Responsibilities
1. Video Editing and Post-Production

Review raw footage and select the best sequences for inclusion in the final video.

Trim and arrange clips, sync audio, insert transitions, add text overlays, and apply special effects as needed.

Enhance audio quality, adjust color grading, lighting, and stabilize shaky footage.

Export final videos in appropriate formats and resolutions for web, broadcast, social media, or internal use.
2. Creative Collaboration

Work closely with creative directors, content writers, graphic designers, or marketing teams to understand the project brief, goals, and tone.

Interpret storyboards, scripts, or rough concepts into fully edited videos that align with brand messaging and visual style.

Contribute creative input on how to enhance storytelling, visual pacing, and viewer engagement.
3. Motion Graphics and Animation (if applicable)

Create or integrate basic motion graphics, lower thirds, intros/outros, and animated titles.

Collaborate with motion designers or graphic teams to include advanced visual effects when needed.

Maintain brand consistency in fonts, colors, transitions, and animation style across videos.
4. File and Asset Management

Organize and archive video projects, raw footage, audio files, and project files systematically.

Maintain backups of ongoing and completed projects.

Ensure consistent naming conventions and version control during editing.
5. Platform-Specific Optimization

Edit video content in multiple formats (horizontal, vertical, square) for different platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Keep up-to-date with platform specifications, best practices, and current content trends to optimize reach and performance.

Incorporate subtitles, end screens, and call-to-actions as required.
6. Quality Control and Feedback Implementation

Ensure final deliverables are polished, error-free, and meet technical and creative standards.

Revise and re-edit content based on feedback from supervisors or clients.

Conduct self-review and peer reviews to maintain quality assurance.
