Job Description
- Edit video content for multiple outlets, including social media, YouTube, and insta.
- Evaluate raw footage and review shot lists and storyboards
- Use software to enhance video footage (canva, photoshop, capcut, filmora)
- Identify ways to improve and enhance footage
- Implement effective storytelling techniques
- Suggest and implement appropriate special effects and music additions
- Collaborate with video production team members
Key Responsibilities:
1. Video Editing:

Edit raw footage into polished final videos for various platforms (YouTube, social media, websites, internal use, etc.).

Trim, cut, rearrange, and assemble clips to ensure logical flow and narrative clarity.

Sync audio and video, apply transitions, color correction, sound effects, text, and graphics.

Adjust pacing, rhythm, and flow of the video to enhance viewer engagement and retention.
2. Creative Input and Collaboration:

Work closely with creative directors, content writers, videographers, or marketing teams to understand project requirements.

Suggest visual styles, transitions, and storytelling approaches to enhance the final output.

Incorporate brand elements (logo, fonts, colors) into all video content for consistency.
3. Sound and Audio Editing:

Enhance videos with appropriate background music, voiceovers, and sound effects.

Balance audio levels and eliminate background noise.

Add subtitles, closed captions, or translated text when required.
4. Motion Graphics and Visual Effects (optional):

Create or apply basic motion graphics, lower thirds, and animated text elements.

Use templates or design custom graphics using software like After Effects (if applicable).

Apply green screen, masking, or keyframe effects where required.
5. File Management and Output:

Organize and manage video assets, source files, and backups efficiently.

Export videos in various formats and resolutions for web, mobile, or broadcast use.

Ensure optimized video quality and file size without losing clarity.
6. Review and Revisions:

Share drafts for feedback and implement changes based on direction.

Make timely revisions while meeting project deadlines.

Maintain version control of video edits and maintain organized folders.
7. Content Optimization (Optional):

Edit for platform-specific formats (e.g., vertical for Reels/Shorts, square for Instagram, landscape for YouTube).

Stay updated on video trends, audience behavior, and platform algorithms.

Suggest edits that improve viewer retention, call-to-actions, or conversions.
