Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT University) invites application for the position Assistant Professor
Work Station: Vellore Campus
Desired Skillset:
a. Applicants should hold Ph.D in the relevant subject from reputed Institutions like IIT, NIT etc
b. Should have sufficient experience in Teaching, Industry & Research with reputed Institutions.
c. Should have research papers published in International / National Journals.
d. Should have books published and Scholars awarded / currently working for.
e. Applicants with patents registered / consultancy works carried out will be given preference.
f. Exposure in handling high-value funded projects will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities:
a. Class Room presentation
b. Laboratory Instructions
c. Development Learning of Resource Materials & Laboratory Development
d. Student Assessment & Evaluation including Examination work of University.
e. Participation in the Co-curricular & extracurricular activities
f. Student’s guidance, counseling & helping in their personal, ethical, moral and overall character development
g. Keeping abreast of new knowledge and skills, help to generate new knowledge and help
h. dissemination of such knowledge through books, publications, seminars, handouts etc.,
i. Continuing Education Activities Self-development through upgrading Qualification, Experience & Professional activities
Academic / Administration:
a. Academic and Administrative management of the institution
b. Policy planning, monitoring & evaluation and promotional activities; both at department level and institution level
c. Design and development of a new programme.
d. Preparing projects for funding in areas of R&D work, laboratory development, modernization, expansion etc.
e. Administration both at departmental & institutional levels
f. Development, administration and management at Institutional levels
g. Monitoring and evaluation of academic and research activities
h. Participation in policy planning at the Regional / National level for Development of Technical Education
i Helping mobilization of resources for the Institution
j. Develop, update and maintain MIS
k. Plan and implement Staff Development activities, conduct Performance Appraisal
l. Maintain Accountability
m. Extension / Industrial Connectivity
Apart from the above duties, any other relevant work assigned by the Dean of the respective schools.
