Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation and Setup:

Set up the Vertical Machining Center by installing and aligning workpieces, tools, and fixtures.

Load CNC programs or manually input data into the VMC control panel as per job requirements.

Adjust machine settings such as speed, feed rate, and depth of cut to optimize machining.

Monitor the machining process and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.

Perform trial runs to ensure correct machine operation before full production.
Programming and Reading Blueprints:
-
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Understand machining codes and programs (G-code, M-code) used by the VMC.

Assist or independently modify CNC programs to optimize machine performance, if skilled.

Collaborate with engineers and programmers to resolve machining issues.
Quality Control:

Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).

Ensure all products meet the required dimensional accuracy and surface finish standards.

Report any deviations or defects and suggest corrective actions.

Maintain detailed records of production output and quality checks.
Maintenance and Safety:

Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of the VMC machine to ensure smooth operation.

Follow all safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean work environment.

Identify and report machine malfunctions or breakdowns promptly.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and safety.
Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain logs of machine operations, tool usage, and production details.

Report daily production status and any issues to supervisors.

Assist in inventory management of tools and raw materials related to machining.
