Job Description

VMC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machining processes, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

* Machine Setup and Operation:

* Set up and operate VMC machines to perform machining operations such as milling, drilling, and tapping.

* Load and unload materials and workpieces.

* Adjust machine settings and tooling as needed.

* Run and monitor CNC programs.

* Blueprint Interpretation:

* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

* Understand dimensional tolerances and geometric dimensions.

* Quality Control:

* Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

* Ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications.

* Identify and report any deviations or defects.

* Machine Maintenance:

* Perform routine maintenance on VMC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and basic troubleshooting.

* Report any machine malfunctions or maintenance needs.

* Safety Compliance:

* Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.

* Maintain a clean and organized work area.

* Programing:

* Some positions may require the ability to edit or create G-code programs.

Qualifications:

* Experience:

* Proven experience as a VMC Operator or CNC Operator.

* Experience with CNC programming and machine setup.

* Skills:

* Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

* Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and techniques.

* Ability to use measuring tools and inspection equipment.

* Knowledge of G-code programming (depending on the position).

* Strong attention to detail.

* Good problem solving skills.
