Assistant Professor Job position in Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) On contract basis
Qualification : Ph.D with first class at all the preceding degrees or equivalent, in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout; at least one degree from institutions like IIT, NIT or other CFTIs / university departments or reputed institutions in India or reputed universities from abroad.
Essential Experience : None
Essential Requirements : One paper in Journal under web of Science [SCI, SSCI and other] and Scopus [with JOURNALS ONLY option] and One paper in reputed Journal either published or accepted for publication. These publications may be based on Ph.D. work.
Desirable Requirements : Two papers in Journals covered under web of Science [SCI, SSCI and other] and Scopus [with JOURNALS ONLY option] or one patent (filed / granted); may be based on Ph.D. work.
Pay : PB-3 of Rs. 15600-39100 with AGP Fts.6000/- PM

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur is one of the thirty National Institutes of Technology in the country. The Govt. of India conferred on the Institute, the Deemed to be University status (under University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956)) with effect from 26th June 2002. Subsequently, the Central Govt. by Act of Parliament (National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007 (29 of 2007)) declared VNIT Nagpur as an Institute of National Importance along with all other NITs. The Act was brought into force from 15th August 2007.
