Job Description
Job Summary
- focuses on registering youth, minority and low-income voters to vote.
- The objective is not only to create changes and differences in our community, state and even country elections, but to educate voters and research why voter turnout percentages are so low and what exactly we can do to encourage voting.
- Registering people to vote
- Planning fundraising events, or overseeing the event to ensure success and organization is maintained.
- Reporting to the head about demographics of people registered to ensure research is conducted accurately.
- Data entry for the research end of the organization
- Experience working in elections preferred.
- Experience in the planning and managing of voter service and polling centre (VSPC) sites and training election judges and/or temporary staff preferred.
- Ability to exhibit initiative and complete projects with little or no supervision.
- Ability to contribute to the long-term focus of the department by offering suggestions and analysing internal processes for areas to improve.
- Ability to promote teamwork at all levels of the department always.
- Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing, with a variety of people and tactfully handle difficult or uncomfortable situations; ability to elicit information from others and provide an explanation or interpretation of complex rules and regulation in a concise, intelligible and professional manner.

- This internship does require organization skills, ability to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life, and overall positive demeanour, as talking politics with anybody can sometimes be difficult to maneuverer around
