Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:

Greet customers with a friendly, welcoming attitude upon arrival.

Guide guests to their tables and offer menu suggestions, as necessary.

Present the menu and explain daily specials, answering any questions about ingredients or preparation methods.

Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring customer preferences and dietary requirements are noted.

Make recommendations and upsell food and beverages to enhance the customer experience and maximize sales.

Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring the correct items are delivered to the correct tables.

Check in with customers throughout the meal to ensure satisfaction and address any additional needs.

Address customer complaints or concerns with professionalism, aiming for quick resolution while maintaining a calm and positive demeanor.
2. Food and Beverage Knowledge:

Have thorough knowledge of the menu, including the ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation of each dish.

Be knowledgeable about wine pairings, cocktails, and other beverages on the menu to assist customers in making informed decisions.

Ensure that all food and drinks served meet the restaurant’s quality standards and are presented attractively.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge about any changes to the menu, daily specials, or promotions.
3. Collaboration with Team Members:

Work in collaboration with kitchen staff to ensure that food orders are prepared correctly and served in a timely manner.

Communicate with bartenders and other service staff to ensure that drinks and food are delivered smoothly and accurately.

Coordinate with other waitstaff to ensure seamless service and avoid any delays.
-
Assist in the training and mentoring of new staff members, if required.
4. Table Maintenance and Cleanliness:
-
Set tables with appropriate tableware, cutlery, napkins, and glassware before guests arrive.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the dining area, ensuring that tables, chairs, and floors are clean throughout the shift.

Clear tables promptly after guests finish their meals, ensuring the area is ready for the next guests.

Ensure that dining areas are organized and stocked with necessary supplies, such as condiments, napkins, and utensils.
5. Cash Handling and Order Processing:

Accurately input customer orders into the restaurant’s POS system.
-
Ensure the accuracy of checks and assist customers with the payment process.

Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments as per restaurant policies, and provide change as necessary.

Ensure that all transactions are processed efficiently and securely.
6. Health and Safety Compliance:

Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage, handling, and service of food and beverages.

Follow hygiene standards, such as maintaining personal cleanliness and ensuring uniform standards are met.

Handle equipment and utensils according to the safety guidelines and ensure that the restaurant environment is safe for customers and staff.

Follow all legal and regulatory requirements for serving alcohol and ensuring responsible service.
