Job Description
Assist in shifting patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, and other departments (e.g., X-ray, OT).

Help patients with daily activities like bathing, toileting, dressing, and feeding (as needed).

Maintain cleanliness of the patient’s room, bed, and surrounding areas.
-
Transport specimens, files, and equipment within the hospital premises as directed.
-
Dispose of medical and general waste as per hospital protocols.
-
Support nurses and doctors during procedures by providing necessary assistance and materials.
-
Ensure timely delivery of food, medicines, and supplies to patients.
-
Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
-
Report any unusual patient behavior or emergencies to the nursing staff immediately.
-
Follow infection control procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Assistance
-
Help patients with mobility, such as assisting them to move, sit, or lie down comfortably.

Assist patients with basic personal hygiene needs, including helping them use washrooms or bathing if required.

Provide support during meal times by serving food and helping patients eat when necessary.
2. Ward Maintenance & Cleanliness
-
Maintain cleanliness of patient wards, corridors, and common areas by sweeping, mopping, and dusting regularly.

Ensure beds are cleaned, made properly, and equipped with fresh linens.

Dispose of waste materials safely and in accordance with hospital protocols.
3. Support Nursing Staff
-
Assist nurses and other healthcare staff in daily ward activities.

Help in transporting patients within the hospital, including moving them to diagnostic areas or operation theatres.

Prepare and arrange medical equipment and supplies as directed.
4. Communication & Reporting
-
Report any patient concerns or changes in condition to nursing staff promptly.

Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff, maintaining a courteous and respectful manner.
