Typical Responsibilities:
Conducting Accessibility Audits:
Evaluating websites and web applications against accessibility standards like WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
Identifying Accessibility Barriers:
Using automated tools and manual testing with assistive technologies to find issues that prevent users with disabilities from accessing content.
Documenting Findings:
Creating detailed reports of accessibility issues, including specific examples and recommendations for remediation.
Recommending Solutions:
Providing clear and actionable advice to development teams on how to fix accessibility problems.
Collaborating with Teams:
Working closely with designers, developers, and project managers to ensure accessibility is integrated into the development process.
Educating Stakeholders:
Sharing knowledge about accessibility best practices and promoting a culture of inclusion.
Staying Updated:
Keeping up with the latest accessibility guidelines, technologies, and best practices.
Developing Test Scripts:

Maintaining Documentation:

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong understanding of web development technologies: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies.
Familiarity with accessibility guidelines: Deep understanding of WCAG and other relevant standards.
Proficiency with assistive technologies: Experience using screen readers (like JAWS, NVDA), keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies.
Experience with automated accessibility testing tools: Familiarity with tools like WAVE, Axe, and others.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills: Ability to clearly explain accessibility issues and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve accessibility problems.
Attention to detail: Ability to meticulously review digital content and identify even minor accessibility issues.
