Qualification : (a) Graduation and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) OR Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El. Ed) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year BA/B.Sc. Ed or B.A.Ed./B.Sc. Ed. OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 year B.Ed. (Special Education) AND (b) Pass in the Teacher Eligibility Text (TET), to be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose. 2. Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education:- For the purposes of this recruitment, a diploma/degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
Age : Minimum 20 years and maximum 40 years.
Fees for Examination : General & OBC Candidates –Rs. 250/-, SC / ST/ PH Candidates-Rs. 80 /-, Bank Charges- Rs. 5/-
Manner of Selection to the Post of Assistant Teachers (UPPER PRIMARY LEVEL) , 2016 : Selection to the post of such Teacher (except Physical Education & Work Education) shall be made categorywise strictly on the basis of merit (Weightage of TET, Academic, Professional Qualification and marks obtained in personality test) from Interview List of State Level Selection Test conducted by the Central Commission, in the manner as specified in Schedule II, Part A of The West Bengal School Service Commission (Selection for Appointment to the Posts of Teachers for Upper Primary Level of Schools) Rules, 2016
Selection to the Posts of Teachers for Upper Primary Level of Schools shall be made on the basis of TET, evaluation of academic and Professional Qualifications of the candidates and personality tests to be determined by the Commission in the following manner:
(a) TET weightage : 40 marks
(b) Academic qualifications including professional qualifications : 50 marks
(c) Personality Test (Appearance before the Personality Test Board is compulsory) : 10 marks
