Job Description
The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for Project entitled “Development of genetic database of captive elephants across India for welfare and management” purely on contractual basis for a period of one year with possible extension up to two years. The EQ, DQ and other details of these positions are provided below :

3. Essential Qualification: Minimum of 60% marks in M.Sc. in Zoology, Wildlife Science, Forestry, Life Science and other biological sciences with minimum 2 years of research experience in the field of molecular ecology/conservation genetics and publication in this field of research.
4. Desirable Qualification: Candidates with prior research experiences with STR marker-based molecular work in wildlife will be given preference.
5. Work Description: The selected candidate will be working on this project involving laboratory research. The job involves preparation of field kits and pan-India disbursement, sample management and data generation, data curation, analysis and overall project coordination.
6. Emoluments: Rs.35,000 plus admissible HRA
7. Duration: One year (initially) with possible extension of another year based on performance review.
8. The positions advertised are purely temporary/ contractual for the project period only and will stand abolished after completion of the project.
9. The tenure in the project will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations
10. Director, WII reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the candidate or for any other reason thereof.
