Job Overview
The role of a Worker – Cutting, Fitting, and Assembly involves assisting with the hands-on fabrication and assembly of mechanical structures, enclosures, frames, panels, and automation components. You will operate hand tools and basic machines, interpret engineering instructions, and follow safety and quality standards to ensure accurate assembly and timely delivery of projects.
This is a physically active, on-the-floor job that requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced industrial environment.Key Responsibilities
1. Material Cutting
-
Measure and mark raw materials such as aluminum profiles, MS/SS pipes, sheets, and rods using appropriate tools (measuring tape, calipers, angle gauge, etc.)

Cut materials using cutting machines like chop saws, angle grinders, band saws, or hacksaws

Ensure accuracy of cuts as per design drawings or supervisor instructions

Deburr and smooth edges of cut parts to prepare for assembly
2. Mechanical Fitting

Assemble structures, panels, frames, and jigs using nuts, bolts, fasteners, and welding supports (if applicable)

Use hand tools such as spanners, screwdrivers, pliers, and torque wrenches for precise fitting

Align and fix components in proper positions based on technical drawings or verbal instructions
-
Assist in fitting pneumatic cylinders, motors, guide rails, and other automation components
3. Assembly of Equipment
-
Join subassemblies to form complete machines, conveyor units, robotic arms, panels, etc.

Work with technicians and engineers during pre-testing and trial assembly
-
Perform basic cable routing and mounting of control panels (if trained)

Label parts and components correctly for identification
4. Tool & Machine Handling
-
Operate and maintain basic workshop machines and tools (drilling machine, grinder, hand drill, etc.)

Use power tools safely and as per instructions

Report faults, tool wear, or breakdowns to the supervisor immediately
5. Quality and Inspection
-
Inspect parts during and after fitting to check alignment, tightness, and finish
-
Ensure components are clean, rust-free, and defect-free before handing off to the next stage

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and checklists
6. Workplace Safety & Maintenance
-
Adhere to workplace safety rules including PPE usage (gloves, safety shoes, eye protection)

Keep workstations clean, organized, and free of hazards
-
Assist in packing and shifting assembled units as needed
