1. Post: Associate Coordinator – Species (Jabalpur)
2. Roles and Responsibilities: WWF India is one of the largest conservation organizations, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the country. We are looking for a committed and self-motivated individual as an Associate Coordinator -Species to be a part of the Wildlife and Habitats Division for its work in Central India Landscape (CIL). The Associate Coordinator-Species will be the point person for all species related work in CIL.
3. Location: Jabalpur
4. Job Profile:
A. Programme Development: To work in coordination with TL and the team in CIL for developing proposals, planning interventions and M&E processes on species monitoring, conflict mitigation and corridor management.
B. Programme Implementation: To conduct ecological surveys, undertake / supervise conflict management / mitigation activities, human-wildlife interface and other related studies in critical areas (wildlife corridors, PAs, habitat areas outside of PAs).
C. Networking & Advocacy: To connect to all relevant stakeholders including Forest Department officials, communities and other line departments and NGOs to enhance existing partnerships as well as develop new ones in aspects such as conflict management including ex-gratia and compensation measure, and securing wildlife corridors.
D. Reporting: Data compilation, analysis and report writing. Publish scientific papers, communication material and donor reports on work conducted from time to time
5. Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
a. M.Sc / Ph. D in Wildlife / Species behaviour / habitat/ human-wildlife interface
b. At least 4-5 years of experience
c. Experience in Wildlife Monitoring, Data analysis, GIS, Conflict Management / Mitigation
d. Candidate should have good writing skills.
