Qualification : (i) MBBS or an equivalent degree from an Indian or recognised foreign University with at least 3 years experience of working in a Govt. Hospital or in a private of repute. (ii) Knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit up to Matric.

It started as an Indo-German project with an aim to impart technical education to a developing India on German pattern.
