Qualification : He/She must be a citizen of India. (b) He/She must be a permanent resident of Kalahandidistrict. (c) He/She must have passed +2 Examination in any discipline or any other examination equivalent thereto.  (e) He/she must be of good character  (f) He/she must be of sound health, good physique and free from organic defects, physical and mental infirmity and must be physically fit. (g) The Physically handicapped candidates having ability for walking, cycling and writing can only apply for the post. (h) He/She is able to read, write and speak Odia and has passed the Class-VII Examination with Odia as a language subject or passed the High School Certificate Examination or an equivalent examination with Odia as the medium of examination in non-language subject or passed a test in Odia of Middle English School standard conducted by the Education Department of the Government. (i) He/She, if married has not more than one spouse living. (j) The candidates must have got his/her name registered in any Employment Exchange of the district on or before the date of submission of application. (k) He/she must not have been debarred from appearing in any other competitive examination or from holding Govt. Service as order by any competent authority. (l) No extra weightage shall be given for higher qualification than the qualification prescribed for the post
Age : The applicant must not be below 21 years and above 32 years of age as on 1st of January, 2013. The upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years in case of SC, ST, S.E.B.C and Women candidates and 10 years for physically handicapped persons and Ex-Serviceman who has put in not less than six month continuous service
Application Fee : Rs 100/- drawn from any national bank in favour of Collector, Nabarangpur payable at Nabarangpur
Selection Process : (a) Selection of candidates would be on the basis of mark secured in the +2 Examination or any other examination equivalent thereto. (b) The selection will be held in accordance with the Odisha Village Level Workers (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2008 as amended in the year, 2012 and in 2013 as well as by following the provisions contained in ORV Act. (c) The list of successful candidates will be drawn up in order of merit on the basis of the percentage of marks secured in the +2 Examination or any other Examination equivalent thereto. The select list will be equal to the number of vacancies advertised. Candidate in order of merit shall be appointed against the available vacancies. (d) Inclusion in the merit list confers no right to appointment which shall depend among other circumstances on actual availability of vacancies. (e) The authority reserves all right to reject any/ all application and modify/ cancel the advertisement without assigning any reason thereof
Kalahandi District is named after its headquarters town, Kalahandi District. During formation of Odisha Province in 1936,Kalahandi District was a ‘Taluk’ of Nabrangpur sub–division of Koraput District of Odisha. In 1962 it was upgraded to a subdivision of Koraput District. The present Kalahandi District got its identity as an independent district due to reorganization of districts of Odisha as per a notification on 1st October, 1992 and with effect from 2nd October 1992. Covering an area of 5,791 sq. kms, it lays between 17 degree 45’N to 18 degree 40’N latitudes and 81 degree 10’ E to 82 degree E longitude. This District is sparsely populated with not much of a difference between the numbers of males and females. Almost the whole of the district is a vast dense jungle, with a very small percentage of the population residing in the urban areas. The district is divided into two distinct physical divisions. The eastern part is covered with steep ghats, platues and valleys, sparsely inhabited by primitive tribes, notable among who are Bondas, Koyas, Porajas and Didayis. The District is moderately literate, with the number of literate males far out numbering the number of literate females.
