Nature of duty : Cleaning & maintenance of WCs (Toilets), offices & premises. Posting onboard ships for similar jobs pertaining to hygiene and general maintenance of ships.
Age : Born between 10 Nov 1994 to 09 Nov 1987
Place of work : Anywhere in India (including Andaman & Nicobar Islands)
Medical standard : Minimum Height – 157 cm, Weight – Proportionate to height, Chest – Well proportioned, Minimum expansion 5 cm, Eye sight – 6/18Â
Pay Band : Rs. 5200 – 20200/-
Training : Enrolled followers shall remain on probation for a period of 2 years which may extend by 1 year. The government may terminate the service of an individual if performance during probationary period found unsatisfactory
Selection procedure : The candidates will have to appear for written test comprising General Awareness & Elementary Mathematics (10th standard level). The test will be of 50 marks (50 questions, multiple choices) and the pass marks will be 50 % for General & OBC candidates and 45 % for SC/ST candidates. The successful candidates will qualify for interview. The finally selected candidates will be medically examined.

Emergence of the Indian Coast Guard on 01 Feb 1977 as a new service was the result of an awareness that had been growing for some time in the Government for the requirement to enforce National Laws in the waters under national jurisdiction and ensure safety of life and property at sea. It was also considered desirable that these law enforcement responsibilities should be undertaken by a service suitably equipped and modelled on the Coast Guards of advanced nations like USA, UK etc leaving the Navy to exercise the fleet for its wartime role
