Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented 2D Drafts Person to join our design or engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate 2D drawings and technical plans using AutoCAD or similar CAD software. This position requires precision, creativity, and a strong understanding of design principles and engineering standards.
The 2D Drafts Person will work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, or designers to produce detailed layouts, schematics, and construction drawings as per project requirements. Candidates should have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
Key Responsibilities:

Drafting and Design:

Create high-quality 2D technical drawings based on rough sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions.

Prepare plans, sections, elevations, and detail drawings as per project needs.

Ensure all drawings are prepared in accordance with industry standards, codes, and company guidelines.

Collaboration and Coordination:

Work closely with architects, engineers, and senior designers to understand project requirements and translate them into drawings.

Modify and revise existing drawings as directed to reflect changes in design or project scope.

Coordinate with other departments or consultants to ensure drawings are aligned and integrated.

Documentation and File Management:

Maintain an organized drawing library and ensure accurate documentation of all design changes.

Label and annotate drawings clearly with dimensions, notes, and materials.

Ensure timely delivery of drawings for internal reviews, client presentations, or site execution.

Quality and Accuracy:

Check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with technical specifications.

Identify and correct any errors or discrepancies in drawings before submission.

Ensure precision in dimensions, scale, and layout to minimize errors during construction or manufacturing.

Use AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software efficiently to produce detailed and clear technical drawings.

Follow CAD layering standards and drawing templates provided by the organization.

Update drawing sets as needed and export files in various formats for client or contractor use.

Assist project managers, engineers, or site teams with drawing-related queries.

Participate in design meetings or site visits when required to better understand project conditions.

Support other design or drafting team members as needed during peak workloads.

Qualifications and Skills:

Diploma or certification in Drafting, CAD Design, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

Proven experience as a 2D Drafts Person or CAD Technician.

Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent 2D drafting software is mandatory.
