1 to 2 yrs of Experience in Career Counselling.
Academic Counselor Experience with Software

Provide guidance on educational pathways, skill development, and job opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
Provide entire guidance to the students and clarify their queries and highlight the benefits of various technical domains
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Counselling
-
Guide students in selecting appropriate academic programs, courses, subjects, and streams based on their interests, academic performance, and long-term goals.

Provide support to students struggling academically by recommending tutoring, study techniques, time management strategies, or remedial programs.

Help students identify their learning styles and suggest academic strategies tailored to their strengths and weaknesses.

Advise on entrance exams, scholarship applications, and admissions procedures for higher education.
2. Career Counselling
-
Assist students or clients in identifying potential career paths based on their interests, values, personality traits, and abilities.

Administer and interpret career assessment tools such as aptitude tests, personality inventories (like MBTI), and interest checklists.

Provide insights into industry trends, future career opportunities, job market requirements, and growth prospects in various fields.

Guide students on resume building, interview preparation, and job application strategies.
3. Individual and Group Counselling

Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions to address specific student needs, challenges, or goals.

Facilitate group sessions or workshops on topics such as goal setting, study skills, college readiness, career planning, communication skills, and confidence building.

Provide emotional and motivational support to help students overcome academic anxiety, peer pressure, or indecision.
4. College and University Guidance

Help students shortlist and apply to colleges or universities in India or abroad based on academic records, career goals, budget, and other preferences.

Assist with the entire admission process including documentation, application form filling, statement of purpose (SOP) writing, and visa counselling (if applicable).

Stay informed about admission criteria, eligibility, deadlines, and scholarship options across institutions and countries.
5. Collaboration and Coordination

Liaise with parents, teachers, academic coordinators, and faculty members to gather insights on students’ academic and behavioral progress.

Coordinate with educational institutions, training centers, placement officers, and industry professionals to provide up-to-date information on courses and job trends.

Collaborate with school or college management to design and implement effective counselling programs.
6. Record Keeping and Reporting

Maintain detailed and confidential records of counselling sessions, assessments, student progress, and feedback.

Prepare reports, presentations, and data analysis to evaluate counselling outcomes and identify areas for improvement.

Track the success rate of student placements, college admissions, and academic performance after counselling interventions.
7. Outreach and Awareness

Conduct career awareness seminars, webinars, and fairs for students and parents to spread awareness about career choices and education options.

Develop informative content such as brochures, newsletters, and blogs to educate students on academic and career topics.

Represent the institution at education fairs, career expos, and promotional events.
Core Skills

Strong counselling and listening skills with the ability to empathize with students.

Deep understanding of academic systems, curricula, and global education trends.

Familiarity with psychometric tools and career assessments.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and local language(s).

Presentation and public speaking skills for workshops and seminars.

Organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple student cases and events.

Digital proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, CRM software, and career counselling platforms.
