Job Description
- Provide academic advice to prospective and current students regarding programs, courses, and degree requirements.
- Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions to assess students’ academic progress, goals, and challenges.
- Assist in developing personalized academic plans and schedules.
- Offer support during course registration, transfers, withdrawals, or deferments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of institutional academic policies and program offerings.
- Collaborate with faculty and departments to identify and support at-risk students.
- Conduct information sessions, workshops, and orientation programs as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and counselling notes.
- Handle enquiries (in-person, phone, email) from students and parents in a professional and timely manner.
- Follow up with students to ensure progress and satisfaction with academic paths.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Counseling and Guidance:

Provide one-on-one or group counseling sessions to prospective and enrolled students.

Guide students in selecting suitable academic programs or courses based on their interests, qualifications, and career aspirations.

Assist students in setting academic goals and creating individualized study plans.

Address academic, social, or emotional concerns affecting student performance or well-being.
2. Admissions Support:

Counsel walk-in and online inquiries about available courses, eligibility criteria, admission procedures, and fee structures.

Follow up with potential students through calls, emails, or chats to encourage enrollment.

Provide clear information about scholarships, internships, placements, or additional support services.
3. Documentation and Process Handling:

Support students through the application, enrollment, and orientation processes.

Maintain accurate records of student interactions, counseling sessions, and follow-ups using CRM tools or spreadsheets.

Ensure all required documentation is collected, verified, and processed according to institutional policies.
4. Relationship Building:

Develop strong relationships with students to foster trust and ensure long-term engagement.

Collaborate with academic coordinators, faculty members, and administrative staff to address students' academic or behavioral concerns.

Act as a bridge between students and departments such as finance, placements, and academics.
5. Reporting and Communication:

Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports on student counseling metrics, enrollment conversions, or case resolutions.

Communicate feedback from students to improve academic programs and student services.

Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to stay updated with policies and counseling techniques.
6. Event Participation and Outreach:

Represent the institution at educational fairs, webinars, school visits, and career counseling events.

Organize seminars or orientation sessions for incoming students and parents.

Promote academic programs through marketing support and social media, as required.
