Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and empathetic Academic Counsellor to guide students and parents in making informed academic decisions. You will play a key role in understanding students' educational needs, recommending appropriate courses or programs, and helping them navigate their academic journey.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a genuine interest in helping students, and the ability to convert leads into successful admissions. Prior experience in education sales, counselling, or admissions will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Counselling & Guidance

Interact with students and parents to understand their academic needs, goals, and concerns.

Provide clear and accurate information about courses, colleges, programs, entrance exams, and career paths.

Assist students in selecting the right program based on their interests, performance, and future goals.

Address doubts and queries related to admissions, eligibility, course curriculum, and duration.
2. Lead Management & Conversion

Follow up with leads generated through online and offline campaigns.

Counsel walk-in students or incoming calls, WhatsApp inquiries, and email leads.

Guide prospective students through the entire admission process — from enquiry to enrollment.

Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets for calls, follow-ups, and enrollments.
3. Admissions Support

Explain the application process, documentation, and fee structures.

Assist with form filling, registration, and coordination with the back-office team.

Update and maintain accurate records of student data and follow-up status in CRM systems.
4. Coordination & Communication

Work closely with the academic and operations team to align student expectations with course offerings.

Schedule demo classes, webinars, counselling sessions, or career guidance workshops.

Maintain regular communication with enrolled students to ensure engagement and satisfaction.
5. Reporting & Feedback

Prepare regular reports on inquiries, conversions, and market feedback.

Share insights with the marketing and academic teams to improve offerings and campaigns.

Help improve counselling strategies based on student trends and feedback.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (preferred: in Education, Psychology, Business, or Communication).

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and regional language.

Ability to explain complex academic concepts in simple, clear language.

Friendly, patient, and student-focused attitude.

Basic knowledge of education systems, courses, universities, or career paths.

Computer proficiency (MS Office, email, CRM tools, and online platforms like Zoom/Google Meet).
