Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and responsible Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations. The Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards, and supporting financial planning through timely reporting and reconciliation.
This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The ideal candidate will help ensure the financial health and accuracy of the organization’s records.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Bookkeeping and Data Entry:

Record all business transactions accurately in the accounting system (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, etc.).

Maintain general ledgers, journals, and other financial records.

Ensure all data is up-to-date, organized, and ready for audit or reporting at any time.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
-
Manage accounts payable by verifying bills, processing vendor payments, and maintaining payment records.

Follow up on outstanding payments from customers and update accounts receivable records accordingly.

Reconcile supplier and customer statements monthly and resolve discrepancies.
3. Banking and Reconciliation:
-
Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all business accounts.

Track deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payments to ensure all bank records align with internal ledgers.

Monitor and manage petty cash, reimbursements, and related financial flows.
4. GST and Taxation Compliance:

Calculate and prepare monthly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.) and file them within the due dates.

Maintain input credit and output tax records and reconcile GST returns with books.

Assist in TDS calculation, deduction, and filing of TDS returns.
5. Payroll Support (if applicable):

Maintain salary records, deductions, and advances.

Calculate employee pay, PF, ESI, professional tax, and other statutory deductions.

Assist in the preparation of payslips and ensure timely disbursement.
6. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Generate customized MIS (Management Information System) reports for management review.

Analyze financial performance, compare budgets vs actuals, and assist in cost control.
7. Inventory and Asset Management (if applicable):

Maintain records of physical assets and inventory in accounting software.

Reconcile stock reports with inventory counts and coordinate with the warehouse team.

Monitor depreciation and asset life-cycle accounting.
8. Internal Controls and Audit:

Ensure accounting policies and internal control procedures are followed.

Assist in preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.

Provide auditors with the necessary data, documentation, and responses.
9. Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations (Company Act, Income Tax, GST, etc.).

Maintain proper documentation of all financial transactions and records for easy retrieval.

Keep track of due dates for tax filings, regulatory requirements, and license renewals.
10. Coordination and Support:

Liaise with external consultants, tax advisors, banks, and vendors for financial matters.

Support other departments with financial data, budget planning, or reporting needs.

Assist the finance manager or senior accountant with strategic financial initiatives.
Skills and Competencies:

Technical Knowledge:
Solid understanding of accounting principles, tax laws (GST, TDS), and statutory compliance. -
Software Proficiency:
Experience with accounting software like Tally ERP, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Busy, or ERP systems.
Strong Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling. -
Accuracy and Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy in data entry, calculations, and reporting. -
Analytical Thinking:
Ability to analyze figures, identify trends, and detect errors. -
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interdepartmental coordination and vendor/client interaction. -
Time Management:
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently. -
Integrity and Confidentiality:
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive financial data and follows ethical accounting practices.
