Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Record Keeping:

Maintain and update all accounting records including journals, ledgers, and other financial documents.

Record day-to-day financial transactions such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.

Ensure that all entries are accurate and in accordance with accounting standards.
2. Invoicing and Billing:
-
Prepare and issue accurate invoices to clients/customers.
-
Track outstanding invoices and follow up on pending payments.

Reconcile customer/vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
3. Bank Reconciliation:
-
Reconcile company bank accounts monthly to ensure accurate cash flow reporting.
-
Monitor and record all bank transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and charges.

Identify and resolve differences between the bank and the company's financial records.
4. Taxation and Statutory Compliance:
-
Assist in the preparation and filing of GST, TDS, and other tax returns.

Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including audits, tax payments, and filings.
-
Maintain documentation for tax assessments and liaise with tax consultants or auditors.
5. Payroll and Employee Reimbursements:
-
Assist in processing payroll and calculating statutory deductions like PF, ESI, and TDS.

Handle employee reimbursement claims by verifying bills and maintaining appropriate records.

Coordinate with HR and admin departments for salary and compliance matters.
6. Inventory and Asset Management:
-
Maintain records of inventory, stock movements, and depreciation of fixed assets.
-
Assist in regular physical verification of stocks and assets as required.
7. Budgeting and Financial Reporting:

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements.

Provide data for budget preparation and compare actual performance with budgeted figures.

Analyze financial trends and assist management in decision-making.
8. Internal Controls and Audit Support:

Implement and follow internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.

Support internal and external audit teams by providing required documentation and information.

Identify process improvements and suggest ways to improve financial accuracy and efficiency.
Required Skills and Competencies:
-
Strong Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), bookkeeping, and financial statements.

Numerical Accuracy: High level of precision in calculations and data entry.

Computer Proficiency: Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, etc.) and strong Excel skills.

Tax Knowledge: Working knowledge of Indian taxation laws including GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and compliance procedures.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data, detect errors, and identify financial trends.

Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with vendors, clients, and internal teams.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain clear documentation.
