Job Summary
The Admission Counsellor plays a pivotal role in the student recruitment and enrollment process. This individual is responsible for guiding prospective students through the entire admissions lifecycle — from the first inquiry to final enrollment. The counsellor provides accurate information about the institution’s academic programs, admission criteria, financial aid, and campus facilities, while also addressing students’ concerns to help them make informed decisions.
The ideal candidate is student-focused, personable, and highly organized, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The Admission Counsellor serves as a key representative of the institution, acting as the first point of contact for many prospective students and parents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Counseling and Guidance

Guide prospective students and their families through the admissions process, including program selection, application procedures, eligibility requirements, and deadlines.

Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions (in-person, by phone, or virtually) to understand student goals and recommend appropriate programs.

Provide information on scholarship opportunities, financial aid options, and loan assistance when applicable.

Address student concerns related to campus life, career outcomes, fees, and academic expectations.
2. Admissions Process Management

Assist applicants in completing admission applications, collecting required documents, and meeting deadlines.

Evaluate and screen applications for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility before submission to the admissions committee.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inquiries, applications, and student interactions using CRM or student management systems.

Coordinate with academic departments to track the status of applications, interviews, test scores, and admission decisions.
3. Outreach & Lead Generation

Follow up on inquiries generated through marketing campaigns, walk-ins, website forms, or education fairs.

Reach out to potential students via phone, email, messaging apps, or social media to provide timely responses and encourage engagement.

Participate in outreach activities such as school visits, career fairs, seminars, and open house events to generate leads and raise awareness of academic offerings.
4. Relationship Building

Build and maintain positive relationships with prospective students, parents, school counselors, and education consultants.

Serve as a brand ambassador for the institution, promoting its values, strengths, and unique offerings.

Develop trust and rapport with students by providing consistent and honest guidance.
5. Collaboration and Coordination

Work closely with marketing, academic, finance, and student services departments to ensure a smooth and collaborative admissions process.

6. Reporting and Analysis
