Education

Required skills:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

Experience

3 to 4 years of IT application support/monitoring batch cycles using scheduler application work experience with demonstrated working knowledge of problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
  • Quick learner on a wide range of issues, including identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize faults and respond or escalate accordingly.
  • Goal oriented individual with organizational skills and a good communicator with a natural aptitude for dealing with people.
  • Ability to quickly gain knowledge and understanding of technical and business functions.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, and results-oriented attitude. Excellent team skills, including strong work ethic.
  • Ability to be proactive and prioritize tasks, including resolving urgent matters without impacting deliverables and productivity.
  • Self-motivated, professional attitude and works well under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of web, application, job scheduling application like CA Autosys or similar products, Unix/Linux environment database servers. Proficiency in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Unix/Linux and FTP utilities. Working knowledge of SAP and scripting will be added advantage
  • Should be able to function independently, with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of IT operations, responsibilities, workflow processes and procedures, in order to resolve most inquiries independently.

Responsibilities
  • Perform batch monitoring and troubleshooting of batch failures to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Act as a liaison between support personnel to bring a quick and efficient resolution to problems.
  • Executes procedures to maintain system operations and be able to contribute in developing new procedures where applicable.
  • A candidate must be detail oriented, have an ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) and to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Manage service-impacting events and track resolution within established service level commitments by using appropriate diagnostic procedures, tools and processes.
  • Perform data center walk-through, monitor safety and environmental conditions within the data centers such as air-conditioning, UPS, generators, and power usage. Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventative maintenance.
  • Must maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude in order to interpret and fulfill requests from external customers in a timely manner.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills in order to interpret data from various sources.
