We work in the development sector and focus on providing on-ground services.While our focus is primary research i.e. data collection, we also engage in providing other bundled services such as survey tool designing, conducting training and workshops, monitoring and evaluation, and conducting impact assessments together with research and policy advisory services across India.We are looking to solve the first-mile problem facing researchers, philanthropists, impact investors, not-for-profits, CSR arms of corporates, and the Government by catering to their data needs.Our clientele spans research institutes, Universities, Ph.D. students, NGOs, donor agencies, government departments, and niche corporate organizations.OPPORTUNITY: Part Time (Freelancer)The Android developer will engage in developing the application for Outline India. We are looking for someone who is interested in working with a growing social enterprise and is keen on contributing to its growth.The principal duties of an Outline India application developer will include:-

Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code-

Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java code-

Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application-

Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs-

Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization-

Testing sample data-sets to check that the platform, as well as application, works as intended;-

Conducting user-acceptance testing to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly and accurately;-

Resolving the technical issues faced by OI and correct the program as necessary;-

Evaluating and increasing the platform and mobile application's effectiveness;-

Adapting the program to new requirements, as and when necessary;-

Developing, updating, modifying and repairing the deployed platform and mobile application.QUALIFICATIONS-

Around 2-3 years of experience in the related field. -

Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.-

Rich experience in designing and developing web and mobile applications.-

Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.-

Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.-

Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.-

In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools (like Android, Windows, iOS).-

Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.-

A team player with excellent communication skills.-

Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.-

Great attention to detail and time-management skills.-

Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.-

Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines.-

Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
