Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Formerly named as Labour Officer) recruitment in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC)
Qualification: (a) A Degree of M.A., Labour Management (formerly known as MLM) awarded by the Tamil Nadu Institute of Labour Studies, Chennai OR (b) (i) Any Degree AND (ii) A Degree or Diploma in Social Work or Social Science or Labour Relations or Social Welfare or A Diploma in Labour Laws awarded by the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi or A Diploma in Labour Laws and Administrative Laws or A Degree in Law or Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Administration awarded by the Tamil Nadu Institute of Labour Studies or A Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations and Labour Welfare awarded by the Madras Productivity Council or Coimbatore Productivity Council or Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations awarded by the Madurai Institute of Social Work, Madurai or M.A. Degree in Work Education awarded by the University of Madras.
Applicants should possess adequate knowledge in Tamil.

AGE LIMIT (as on 01.07.2018): 30 Years ‘Others’ [i.e. applicants not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs].
Registration Fee: For One Time Registration (Revised with effect from 01.03.2017 vide G.O.(Ms).No.32, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (M) Department, dated 01.03.2017). Note Applicants who have already registered in One Time Registration system within the validity period of 5 years are exempted. Rs.150/- b) Examination Fee For Examination Note The Examination fee should be paid at the time of submitting the online application for this recruitment if they are not eligible for the concession noted below. Rs.200/-
Selection Procedure: Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination and (ii) Oral Test in the shape of an interview.
Examinations will be held at the following centre only.

Madras Service Commission thus came into being under an Act of the
Madras Legislature in 1929. Madras Presidency had the unique honour, of
being the only province in India to establish the first Service
Commission. The Madras Service Commission started with three Members,
including the Chairman. After re-organisation of States in 1957, several
Commissions were constituted. The Madras Service Commission became
Madras Public Service Commission with headquarters at Madras in the year
1957. During 1970, when the name of the State was changed into Tamil
Nadu, the Madras Public Service Commission automatically became the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).
