ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER

Experience: Minimum 2 TO 3 Years in Retail Store Management

Qualification: Any Degree / Intermediate.

  • A store manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a store.
  • Motivating and training team.
  • Customer service-oriented.
  • Strong leadership.

Job Description

  • Manager has to lead &achieve prescribed sales targets and further sales improvement.
  • Smooth showroom operations on day to day basis.
  • Maintain floor discipline and administration.
  • Maintain proper inventory records and execute self-audit.
  • Ensure proper grooming as per standards of the organization. Follow organisation SOP.
  • Responsible to maintain hygiene standards in the showroom.
  • Updating staff with present scheme & promotions.
  • Keep a tap on market competition.
  • Coordinate with reporting manager for business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Store Operations

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing all day-to-day store operations to ensure smooth functioning.

  • Open and close the store as per company guidelines, ensuring all checklists and procedures are followed.

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the store floor and backroom.

  • Manage cash handling processes, including till operations, banking procedures, and reconciliation.

2. Sales & Target Achievement

  • Support the Store Manager in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.

  • Motivate team members to meet or exceed sales goals through coaching and performance feedback.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as average transaction value (ATV), units per transaction (UPT), and conversion rates.

  • Implement upselling and cross-selling strategies to enhance revenue.

3. Customer Service Excellence

  • Ensure that all customers receive outstanding service by maintaining a customer-first culture on the shop floor.

  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and escalations professionally and efficiently.

  • Train and guide staff on customer service protocols, product knowledge, and brand values.

  • Ensure all team members are actively engaging with customers and maintaining a welcoming environment.

4. Staff Supervision & Team Management

  • Assist in managing and supervising store staff, including sales associates, cashiers, and stock handlers.

  • Help create employee work schedules and ensure adequate shift coverage.

  • Participate in staff recruitment, onboarding, and training processes.

  • Conduct daily team briefings, monitor performance, and provide feedback or coaching as needed.

  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages team collaboration, accountability, and enthusiasm.

5. Visual Merchandising & Store Presentation

  • Ensure the store is visually appealing, clean, and fully stocked according to brand guidelines.

  • Assist with setting up promotions, new collections, and seasonal displays.

  • Monitor shelf presentation, product labeling, and overall store layout to enhance customer experience.

  • Coordinate with the visual merchandising team or head office for any updates or changes.

6. Inventory & Stock Control

  • Assist in managing stock levels, stockroom organization, and product replenishment.

  • Oversee daily stock receipt, product tagging, and placement on the shop floor.

  • Conduct regular stock counts and assist with audits and inventory reconciliation.

  • Identify and reduce stock losses due to damage, theft, or errors through strict compliance with processes.
