Job Description

Associate Scientist - I (Genomics & Trait Discovery) recruitment in ICRISAT Headquarters at Patancheru, Telangana State, India.

Requirement: PhD from a reputed University in Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology/Genetics/Botany or related field with experience in genomics/genetics/plant breeding at a research institute/University/private sector company, and a good aptitude for field and lab work.

Proficiency in bi-parental QTL mapping, association mapping, transcriptome analysis, RNA-seq, DNase-seq, basic statistics and bioinformatics.Should be a good team player and adaptable to working in multicultural team.Experience in handling water-use efficiency (WUE) related experiments would be desirable.Proficiency in Computer skills (MS Office, data analysis), Statistical Skills and communication skills in English (both written and oral) Should be a good team player and have experience working in multicultural team.The skills for writing and representation of scientific data as evident from research papers published in peer reviewed journals.

General: This is a locally recruited staff (LRS) position for three years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institute’s continuing need for the position.
