Job Description
Job Summary
The AutoCAD Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining systems, structures, components, or machinery using AutoCAD and related design software. This role plays a critical part in the technical planning and execution of engineering projects, from conceptualization to final production. The AutoCAD Engineer solves complex technical problems, implements innovative solutions, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and technical efficiency.
This role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, proficiency in computer-aided design, and a detail-oriented approach to technical documentation and drawing accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Drafting

Create precise and detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, models, schematics, and blueprints using AutoCAD and related CAD software.

Interpret technical specifications, engineering plans, and customer requirements to develop appropriate design solutions.

Modify existing designs and update drawings based on engineering changes or client feedback.
2. Engineering Development

Assist in the development and innovation of systems, structures, or mechanical components tailored to specific applications.

Perform basic engineering calculations and material analyses to support design decisions.

Participate in the selection of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes to optimize performance and cost.
3. Problem-Solving & Innovation

Identify and troubleshoot design-related issues during project planning or execution phases.

Offer innovative engineering solutions to improve system performance, manufacturing efficiency, or cost-effectiveness.

Collaborate with technical teams to prototype and test new designs or improvements.
4. Project Collaboration

Work closely with project managers, fellow engineers, architects, drafters, and technicians to ensure design intent is met.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, present design concepts, and ensure smooth execution.

Assist in reviewing and coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and contractors for technical specifications.
5. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain detailed project documentation including revision histories, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and engineering notes.

Ensure all drawings and models comply with industry standards, codes, and internal quality control procedures.

Support technical documentation efforts for manufacturing, installation, and operational guides.
