Backend Developer
Job Description
Akira consultancy is seeking a talented Backend Developer to build and maintain scalable backend systems. You'll work with APIs, databases, and cloud services to support high-performance applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Server-Side Development

Develop and maintain server-side application logic and business processes.

Build robust and scalable web applications, APIs, and services.

Optimize applications for performance, reliability, and scalability.

Ensure efficient processing of large volumes of data, transactions, and requests.
2. API Development and Integration

Design, develop, and document RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.

Integrate external APIs and third-party services as required.

Ensure secure and smooth communication between client-side applications and the server.
3. Database Management
-
Design, create, and maintain relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.

Write optimized queries, stored procedures, and data migration scripts.

Ensure data integrity, security, and consistency across platforms.
4. System Architecture and Security
-
Collaborate in designing system architecture and application flow.
-
Implement secure coding practices to protect data and user privacy.
-
Identify and mitigate performance and security issues such as SQL injection, CSRF, and XSS.
5. DevOps and Deployment
-
Automate deployment processes and continuous integration pipelines (CI/CD).

Work with version control tools such as Git.
-
Monitor server performance and ensure uptime through proactive support and logging tools.

Set up and manage cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) or on-premise hosting.
6. Cross-Team Collaboration

Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements using server-side logic.

Work closely with product managers and UI/UX teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.

Participate in code reviews, planning meetings, and stand-ups as part of an Agile team.
7. Documentation and Maintenance

Document code, architecture, processes, and system configurations.

Maintain and update existing backend systems and troubleshoot reported issues.

Refactor and improve code for readability, reusability, and maintainability.
