Job Description
The Business Development Executive (BDE) in the FMCG sector is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and achieving sales targets. The role involves understanding the market dynamics, promoting products, managing distribution channels, and working closely with retailers, wholesalers, and distributors.

Identify new business opportunities and generate leads.

Meet or exceed sales targets in assigned territories or segments.

Execute B2B and B2C sales strategies.
Market & Channel Development:

Expand retail and distribution networks in targeted areas.

Onboard new distributors, retailers, and channel partners.

Conduct product demos and promotional activities.
Client Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.

Address client issues and provide after-sales support.

Ensure high customer satisfaction.
Product Promotion & Merchandising:

Ensure product visibility at retail outlets.

Work with marketing teams for in-store promotions.

Monitor competitor activities and suggest improvements.
Reporting & Analysis:

Provide market feedback to product and marketing teams.

Maintain regular sales reports, forecasts, and data tracking.

Analyze performance and suggest course corrections.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Negotiation and closing skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Market research and competitive analysis

Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools

Familiarity with local FMCG distribution networks

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA is a plus)

1–3 years of experience in sales or business development (preferably in FMCG or retail sector)

Experience working with grocery retailers, kirana stores, supermarkets, or modern trade channels

Knowledge of product categories like packaged foods, beverages, personal care, or household products

Understanding of pricing, promotions, and supply chain logistics in FMCG

Field-oriented job with regular travel

May involve working irregular hours to meet business needs
