Key Responsibilities:

Passenger Transportation:

Pick up passengers from requested or assigned locations and transport them to their destinations.

Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage or packages, especially elderly or physically challenged individuals.

Use GPS systems, mobile apps, or local knowledge to choose the most efficient and safe route.

Adjust routes in real-time to avoid traffic congestion, road closures, or delays.

Vehicle Operation and Maintenance:

Operate the cab in a safe, responsible, and lawful manner at all times.

Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after shifts (check fuel, brakes, tires, lights, and cleanliness).

Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or vehicle damage to the supervisor or maintenance team.

Keep the vehicle clean, presentable, and well-maintained inside and out.

Customer Service:

Greet passengers politely and answer any questions they may have during the ride.

Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.

Handle special requests such as preferred routes, air conditioning settings, or radio preferences.

Resolve minor customer concerns tactfully and report major complaints to management or customer support.

Fare Management and Payment Processing:

Use a meter or ride-hailing app to calculate fares based on distance and time.

Handle cash and digital payments accurately and issue receipts if required.

Ensure proper use of fare systems, promotional codes, and discounts as applicable.

Submit daily earnings to the company if operating under an employer or fleet owner.

Navigation and Route Planning:

Stay updated on road conditions, construction zones, and traffic updates.

Use GPS or maps to find alternate routes when needed.

Maintain punctuality for time-sensitive pickups like airport or railway station drop-offs.

Compliance and Safety:

Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and safety procedures.

Maintain valid driver’s license, cab permit, and any additional documentation required by local authorities or companies.

Avoid distractions such as mobile phone use while driving (unless using navigation apps via hands-free systems).

Assist in emergencies or accidents, including contacting emergency services if needed.

Record-Keeping and Reporting:

Maintain daily logs of trips made, kilometers traveled, hours worked, fuel usage, and maintenance checks.

Report lost and found items to the concerned department or return them to passengers.

Submit reports of any accidents, violations, or incidents encountered during work.

Skills and Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Commercial vehicle license (as required by local regulations).

Proven experience as a driver, preferably in taxi or ride-hailing services.

Good knowledge of local roads, landmarks, and traffic patterns.

Ability to operate smartphones, navigation apps, and ride-booking platforms.

Basic math and communication skills.

Ability to remain calm in stressful situations such as heavy traffic or difficult passengers.
