Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
1. CCTV System Installation:

Install and configure CCTV cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and related security equipment at client premises, including both residential and commercial environments.

Assess customer needs, recommend appropriate equipment and placement of cameras, and design surveillance systems that meet security requirements.

Perform the physical installation of equipment, including cameras, cabling, networking, and power systems.

Ensure that installations are carried out according to industry standards and client specifications.
2. System Configuration and Setup:

Configure IP cameras, analog cameras, DVRs, and NVRs for optimal performance and coverage.

Set up and configure remote monitoring and video analytics features for CCTV systems.

Connect cameras to networks, ensuring they are accessible remotely through PC, mobile devices, or other monitoring platforms.

Perform system integrations, including linking CCTV with other security systems such as access control, alarm systems, or fire safety systems.

Customize settings to meet specific security needs, such as motion detection, alerts, and video storage settings.
3. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

Provide troubleshooting support for CCTV systems, identifying and resolving issues related to hardware, software, or connectivity problems.

Diagnose camera, DVR, and NVR malfunctions and repair or replace faulty equipment as necessary.

Perform regular preventive maintenance on installed CCTV systems, ensuring cameras are working correctly, video footage is properly stored, and systems are up-to-date.

Respond to emergency calls and provide on-site or remote technical support for malfunctioning systems.
4. System Upgrades and Replacements:

Perform system upgrades, including the installation of newer cameras, enhanced DVR/NVR systems, and software to improve performance.

Replace outdated or faulty components to ensure the system remains reliable and effective.

Advise clients on potential improvements or upgrades to optimize surveillance coverage and system performance.
5. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities for each CCTV system.

Provide detailed documentation on system configurations, schematics, and user manuals for clients.

Complete installation checklists and submit reports to supervisors or project managers regarding the progress of each installation or maintenance task.

Keep track of inventory for parts and equipment, ensuring that replacements and repairs can be completed efficiently.
6. Client Interaction and Support:

Communicate with clients to assess their security needs, provide advice on system setup, and ensure their satisfaction with the CCTV systems.

Offer on-site training to clients on how to use CCTV equipment, including video playback, remote monitoring, and system management.

Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients, addressing any concerns or system-related issues they may have.
7. Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all installations meet local regulations and safety standards, including electrical safety and data privacy laws.

Follow all company policies and industry standards related to equipment handling, cabling, and installation procedures.

Ensure all surveillance footage and data are handled securely, adhering to data protection and privacy regulations.
8. Research and Development:

Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in CCTV technology, including new camera models, software, and security features.

Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge of the industry.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend new tools or systems that could improve the company’s CCTV offerings.
