CEFIPRA Post-Doctoral
Fellowship: Modelling and Observing Pulsars
The National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Tata Institute
of Fundamental Research (NCRA-TIFR), India, is seeking a post-doctoral fellow
to work on observational and theoretical aspects of Pulsar emission mechanisms.
The position is funded by the CEFIPRA – Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of
Advanced Research (IFCPAR) project
titled “Modelling and observing pulsars: from high energy to radio
emission”.
The candidate has to have a PhD degree in astronomy,
astrophysics, or a related discipline, or must be awaiting the award of the
Ph.D. degree after submitting the doctoral thesis to a university. A strong
background in analyzing and interpreting X-ray/gamma-ray observations of
pulsars (e.g from instruments like XMM-Newton, Chandra, NuSTAR, Astrosat,
Fermi) and/or expertise in numerical and computational aspects of relativistic
plasma astrophysics will be given preference.
Qualification :
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) : Post Graduate Degree in Basic
Science with NET qualification or Graduate Degree in Professional Course with
NET qualification or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course
Senior Research Fellow (SRF) : Qualification prescribed for
JRF with two years of research experience
RA : Ph.D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years
of research teaching and design and development experience after
MVSc/M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation
