Cloud Technical Solutions Engineer/Infrastructure

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in reading or debugging code in Java, C, C++, .NET, Python, Shell, Perl, and/or JavaScript.
- Experience in managing customer issues or needs.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Kubernetes, system virtualization, on-prem and/or hybrid cloud computing, cloud identity and security system, cloud monitoring and logging, as well as local and cloud storage.
- Intermediate to advanced system/network administrator level knowledge of Linux/Unix or Windows systems.
- Understanding of basic web technologies (HTTP, HTML, DNS, TCP, etc.).
- Familiarity with any of these cloud storage solutions: SQL database administration, Google App Engine, open source software communities, Cloud networking solutions, or distributed computing technology.
- Familiarity with computer networking (TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, etc.).
- Outstanding troubleshooting, attention to detail, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Own the customer’s problem through effective diagnosis, resolution, or implementation of new investigation tools to increase productivity for customer issues on Google Cloud Platform products.
- Develop an understanding of Google's product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, and determining the root cause for customer reported issues; build tools for faster diagnosis.
- Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in Engineering, Sales, and Customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
- Work with multiple Product and Engineering teams to find ways to improve the supportability, products, and interact with our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to drive high-quality production.
- Understand customer issues proactively and advocate for their needs with cross-functional teams like Product Management or Software Engineering.
