Job Description
Job Title: Computer Operator
Job Summary:
A Computer Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling computer systems and networks to ensure smooth and efficient operation. They handle routine maintenance, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure data is processed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor computer systems, servers, and networks for proper functioning
Operate and control computer hardware and peripheral equipment
Perform routine system checks and maintenance tasks
Execute batch processing jobs and ensure timely completion
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and report major problems
Maintain logs of system performance, errors, and activities
Ensure data backups are performed regularly
Manage printer operations and other output devices
Follow security protocols and maintain data confidentiality
Coordinate with IT staff for system upgrades or repairs
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of computer systems and operating systems (Windows/Linux)
Familiarity with MS Office and basic networking concepts
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Attention to detail and ability to monitor systems continuously
Ability to work in shifts (if required)
Strong communication and reporting skills
Educational Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred)
Relevant certifications are an advantage
Experience:
0–2 years for entry-level roles
Experience in system operations or IT support is a plus
Working Conditions:
May involve shift work (day/night)
Office or data center environment
