Job Description
Job Summary
We are hiring a trustworthy and responsible Counter Sales Executive for our electrical wholesale and retail outlet. The ideal candidate should have basic experience in selling electrical items such as switches, sockets, wires, cables, lights, MCBs, and related accessories.
This position involves assisting customers at the counter, handling sales transactions, maintaining stock awareness, and supporting the shop owner in daily operations. The candidate should be honest, reliable, and willing to learn on the job.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Sales at the Counter

Attend walk-in customers politely and understand their electrical product requirements.

Provide accurate product details, usage suggestions, and price information.

Recommend suitable alternatives if any item is not available.

Close sales efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
2. Basic Product Knowledge

Must have general knowledge or basic experience with electrical items like:

Switches and sockets (Modular/Non-Modular)

Electrical wires and cables (Brands like Polycab, Finolex, etc.)

LED bulbs, tube lights, panel lights
-
Extension boards, MCBs, distribution boards

Willingness to learn more about technical specs, usage, and new products.
3. Billing and Transactions

Handle cash and digital payments at the counter accurately.

Create manual or software-based bills/invoices as per shop format.

Keep proper records of daily sales and customer orders.

Issue and record delivery challans if required.
4. Stock Assistance
-
Help with stock updates, checking availability, and labeling items.

Inform the owner about low stock levels or fast-moving products.

Assist in receiving new inventory and organizing shelves.
5. Support Shop Owner
-
Assist the shop owner in daily shop operations.

Handle counter independently in owner's absence for short durations.
-
Help in handling bulk/wholesale orders and ensuring correct dispatch.
6. Cleanliness and Shop Management
-
Keep the counter and display area neat, clean, and organized.
-
Ensure product displays are presentable and easy for customers to view.

Follow safety protocols when handling wires, tools, or electrical items.
Skills Required

Basic Knowledge of electrical products and their use

Good communication skills in Hindi, English, or local language

Honest, reliable, and punctual

Basic math skills to handle billing and stock
